Seafloor Electromagnetic Methods Consortium | About

The Seafloor Electromagnetic Methods Consortium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography developes electromagnetic methods for the purpose of offshore petroleum exploration. Consortium support since 1996 has funded the following research projects

Marine active-source EM for petroleum exploration
Marine MT for mapping 3D salt structures
Developement of broadband marine EM receiver
Developement of active-source EM transmitter
Sharp contrast Occam inversion
WHAM: Web Hosted Active Source Modeling, 1D EM modeling online tool
EM Exploration for gas hydrates (August 2004 cruise at Hydrate Ridge)
